silk paintings depicting surrey's communities
closeup (albeit blurry) of one of the silk paintings; I believe this is meant to be South Surrey
details about the silk paintings

a buggy from Surrey's earliest days

this car once drove down the streets of New Westminster

this really makes me appreciate the Wonderwash
I think I would have starved back then, although I do love turnips and salmon...
then again, Indian is one of my least favourite cuisines
Zhuhai, China, is Surrey's sister city
so is Kuto-Ku, Japan!
TWO phones!
I still listen to the radio for entertainment and news since I don't have a tv!
old currency; I believe that's King George
reminds me of a pub I once saw in Scotland that had been in business for a long time, too, since the the 18th century!
I'd heard of a lot of wartime measures, but the coffee grinds thing is new. I'm surprised that there was enough coffee to do that!
I love stained glass and found this piece to be particularly beautiful. I love the contrast of the blue and the red in the flooring.
Good question, Bill! (It's kind of like wondering how hungry was the first person who saw a lobster and thought "Gee, that might be good eating!")
The Surrey Museum is located in Cloverdale. Stargate SG-1 and MacGyver also had episodes filmed in this neighbourhood.
A Surrey Buggy.
A Surrey buggy is not what I expected it to be!
She's from Surrey?!
I've driven through Whalley a few times and it's from there that I took the Skytrain to work. It's not a savory part of town and there has been a lot of violence there since January of 2009 (as of late March 2009).
I have not been to Guilford. It is the roughest part of Surrey and that which gives the city its reputation as being a dangerous place. There has been a lot of violence there since January of 2009 (as of late March 2009).
I've driven through Fleetwood and it seems like a nice enough neighbourhood.
I've experienced Newton mostly from a bus seat, but I did very much enjoy the community's wave pool.
(the photos get more and more blurry) Cloverdale is a nice little community with a lot of shops and restaurants. I come here a lot.
South Surrey is the part of town that I called home for four months in early 2009. It's still in development and very rural in parts. It's hard to believe that it's part of the same city as seedy Whalley!
