A Post for My Tweeters
Posted By Rae on November 18, 2009
No, I am not about to jump on the Twitter bandwagon, but I’ve discovered that some of my readers tweet links to my blog. I found this out while I was going through the spam comments tonight, discovering that, among others, my Home Office in an RV post was tweeted three times. So, I’ve added a widget that makes it easy for tweeters to share posts they like. Just click on the blue ‘retweet’ button beside each post. You can also click on the grey ‘tweets’ button if there is a number beside to see the tweet about the post if you’re a reader who likes to check out comments.
I never cease to be amazed by how many sources of readership I discover purely by accident. Blog writers should not rely on only traffic counters like Site Meter to determine where readers are coming from.

How you be, gal??
Okay, so how else to I figure out where my tags are coming from? I am still not well versed in my efforts as a blogger, and just go about my posts without much thought to that side of things. I do find amusement and wonder in the scope of where all the hits are coming from.
Also, you have tweaked curiosity so maybe shoot your wrist so we can see the damage
I be good!
-To find out if anyone is tweeting about you, go to topsy.com
-Put a Site Meter counter on your blog (which I think you have).
-Sign up for Google Analytics. (http://www.google.com/analytics/) They monitor traffic and provide other useful information. There’s some overlap with Site Meter, but not much
I know there’s a couple of others, but my mind is blank right now. Oh! Blogburst! They’re the folks who get me onto the Chicago Tribune websites. It’s kind of like being syndicated. I recommend checking them out.
Got a (very bad) picture of the wrist if you’re seriously interested, but, I think you’ll be disappointed since it looks pretty good in that pic because I got rid of all the crusted in splinters.
Glad you’re healing, anyway.
Thanks for the sites and stuff. I will check them out and see what it can do for my curiosity
Another good way of drawing in readers is to comment on other blogs that get a lot of traffic. They don’t even have to be RVing blogs. I frequent unclutterer.com and apartmenttherapy.com and comment frequently, earning me lots of traffic. I make sure that I make comments that are relevant to the posts so that I don’t look like I’m trolling. For example, there was a post a few months ago about the 3M command hanging strips, so I posted my testimonial about them. You should have seen my adsense earnings go up that day with the flood of traffic I got!
